Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut und Senf (Grilled Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and Mustard)
A Bavarian street food staple — grilled sausages with tangy sauerkraut and mustard.
Ingredients:
4 German bratwurst sausages
1 tbsp oil or butter for frying
300 g (10 oz) sauerkraut (jarred or homemade)
1 small onion, sliced
50 ml (3 tbsp) white wine or broth
1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
Salt & pepper
German mustard, to serve
Instructions:
Grill or pan-fry bratwurst until golden and cooked through (about 10–12 minutes).
For sauerkraut, sauté onion in butter. Add sauerkraut, wine/broth, and caraway.
Simmer for 20 minutes until flavors meld. Season.
Serve bratwurst hot with sauerkraut on the side and mustard for dipping.
